Technical Whitepaper V1

What the OddsOfBlackjack engine calculates, under which conventions and approximations, and what evidence exists for those calculations — including what the evidence does not establish. Each check carries its own scope; no global validation verdict is given.

Scope

A description of the model and of its evidence, with the limits stated.

The whitepaper documents the calculation path the application actually uses. Where a result rests on a convention, a calibration or an incomplete record, the document says so.

What the document covers
  • The recorded composition, the rules and the EV conventions.
  • The conditioning conventions used to evaluate each action.
  • The pre-bet EV, its calibration and the domain where it applies.
  • Three bet-sizing rules, kept separate: the historical ramps, MOV with a fixed unit, and MOV sized by confirmed balance.
  • Every check performed, labelled by what it actually shows.
  • The first one-million-card retrospective simulation (MOV with a fixed unit, +$7,570) and the limitations.
What it does not contain or claim
  • Source code, pseudocode, calibration coefficients or infrastructure details.
  • A demonstration that every production value can be reconstructed in full from the public description.
  • Independent third-party validation, which has not been performed.
  • A forecast or guarantee of any financial result.
Whitepaper V1 and the one-million-card results
The one-million-card result in Whitepaper V1, +$7,570, belongs to the first track (1,000,005 cards, MOV ramp with a fixed unit applied retrospectively, no Basic Strategy track). It is kept unchanged in the first-track archive. The later One Million Cards comparison of OOB Graduated, OOB Selective and Basic Strategy — Flat Bet comes from a second, separate simulation completed on 11 October 2026; it is not part of this document, and the two results are not combined. The PDF itself is unchanged: where it names oddsofblackjack.com/proof/1-million-cards as the public page of the first track (Figure 2 and the provenance table), that chart and those figures are now at oddsofblackjack.com/proof/1-million-cards-original.
